The fishing rig is designed as a paternoster rig or leger rig depending where you’re from. They are very similar to a Sabiki rig , just on a larger scale. The best way to fish using the snapper snatcher from a boat is to drop it straight down to the bottom. You do not need to cast it if you are fishing with these rigs out of a boat. With the fishing rig being vertical and the boats rocking up & down it help the flasher attract the fish to you snatcher. Alternatively, if you are fishing the rig in the surf from a beach, the flasher will also work awesome . One of the best discoveries for snapper snatchers (also called snapper catchers), was how good the flashers work in the surf. My favourite rig to target tailor or salmon would be circle hook size 1/0.

The 1/0 Surf or whitting rig  is a great chocie of fishing rig to tackle big salmon and Talior from the surf or beach . A small strip of bait is best to use on this rig .But in the surf  the flasher type lure washes around and attracts the fish. Another good use for this  rig is fishing for bream and mullet and everyday use from piers and jetty’s it can be very effective rig. If you are new to fishing you can simply tie the rig on to your mainline and your fishing , a great chocie of rig when you take the kids down to the local pier, its that simple .

You will get excellent hook up rates with both.
When fishing for Salmon in the surf or Snapper in the bays, Snapper Snatchers with Circle 5/0 hooks are a good choice. If you are specifically targeting Gummy sharks or Mulloway, go up to 7/0 hooks.
